happy halloween!!

so with it being eastons first halloween and all, naturally i planned to make his costume. in true new mom fashion time got away from me and the night before the quilt-or-treat {with the recent ward changes we apparently did not have access to the building for the traditional trunk-or-treat, so instead we had it at the park and setup little quilts to to pass out candy from} jer and i went to joann's for a pattern and decided to make him a cow of sorts. well it was so late by the time that i had a chance to get sewing that i cut it out all wrong and then sewed it backwards. i gave up and went to bed. the next morning, now the day of the quilt-or-treat, i got an email with a tutorial on how to make simple bat wings. after some trial and error and one last trip to the fabric store we had us a little bat! he was adorable!

7 months gone by

yikes! my baby is seven months old, its crazy how fast time goes by. he is getting so big. easton crawls and gets into everything, plug-ins, dog food, dog water, dog toys, tupperware cupboard, tv wires, drawers, shoes, basically anything that he can get his hands on. he is still not on a schedule, it stinks! after a few face plants he is beginning to pull himself up on the couch. he loves his vegetables, not so big on the fruits. now i know that tv is bad for babies and some studies say that it causes a.d.d. but really i love watching sesame street with easton, and sometimes he is just too fussy for his own good and wont fall asleep, so i put him in the swing with baby einstein and its like magic. as tired as i am most of the time, i love watching him explore this big world around him.

separation anxiety is starting to set in, i absolutely love that he knows who his mom is and that he loves me back. but sometimes its a bit of a pain when i just want to pee, alone.

everyday i am so thankful for this sweet little baby that we have been blessed with. he is such a sweet spirit and i love his little personality.

j turns 27, my belated bday

for my birthday jer had surprised me with tickets to see blink-182. a band that i have always wanted to see, so we planned on going to dinner and making a night of it. i pumped and pumped for weeks so that mom would have enough milk for the night. when the day arrived, there was nothing that sounded less appealing than going to a concert! bummer right? being a mom is seriously exhausting, that is not a complaint, merely a fact. so we still went on a date night, we just modified it a bit. we had dinner at lucille's, shopping at nordy's, and had desert at the sugar bowl. it was the perfect night out

for j's birthday we went out to dinner with jeremiah and olivia. we went to the arrogant butcher, it was super yummy and fun. we had dessert at yogurtini. another successful date night.

i wish i would have gotten a picture of dinner, it was as tasty as it looked

the birthday boys yogurt, it was sugar overload, you cant see 'em but im pretty sure there are gummy bears in there too!

momma gets a perm, toaster gets his first hair cut

my hair used to be pretty curly, curly enough to where i could wash it, scrunch  it , and go, and still look semi put together. since having easton the curl fell out and i was left with hair that wasn't quite straight and wasn't quite curly, it was just plain fluffy. i spent most of the summer blowing it dry and straightening it, and now that easton sleeps even less, is mobile and gone in a flash, its a REALLY good day if my hair gets washed. i knew the word perm makes you cringe and think of parachute pants and ferris bueller's day off, but honest its awesome! i love it, even if my hair ends up in a ponytail it still looks like it was "done".

since it takes what feels like 12hrs to get a perm, i decided to have easton get his first hair cut at the same time, his hair was getting stringy and mullety, which was kinda cute at first, but once the allure wore off it just look plain awful. he did really well, until i walked around the corner to where he could see me and then he was pretty mad about it.

it was a successful day of beautification, toaster looks like a little boy and momma looks like a girl!

easton gets a high chair

i have yet to find a highchair that is reasonably priced that isn't completely hideous. so around here we hold easton on one hip and feed him with the free hand, don't judge. well nana just couldn't take it anymore and bought a highchair for her house, its quite the eyesore.

there is nothing easton loves more than "helping" aka destroying. he spent sometime plotting how to get his little paw paws on that instruction manual. finally jer got smart and gave him that thing that you are supposed to fill out and send in to register the product, and he was content in crumpling that up into a wad.

weird how i don't actually have a picture of him in it, but he seems to like it... i will probably break down and just get one, he is getting pretty heavy!
