just a quick thought

i am sitting in bed catching up on my blog reading, jer just got home from work and finished his late night dinner. j left the room, i assumed he was headed into the kitchen to put his dish away but instead he went in to check on the sweet baby. what a loving dad easton has, such a lucky kid. when j came back i asked him where he went and he said he had gone into the baby's room to make sure he was still breathing! thanks dad for checking on me! auntie would be so proud, she too did frequent breath checks.

easton has so much love in his life, and has brought so much into ours. he is growing so quickly. tonight my mom and i packed away his clothes that don't fit anymore and i can hardly believe he was so tiny. its amazing how much he has grown, changed, and developed in 6 short months. he has his own little personality and know how to get exactly what he wants. i can already tell is going to get into everything! he is crawling, blabbing constantly, petting lola (well it's more like beating lola, but she knows what he means), sitting up, eating food, dancing to music. we just love him so much!!

the newest addition

introducing

 Pete C. Horse

this is e's new favorite toy, that i made him. thats right I made him! i have been getting my craft on!

6 mo update

e is growing up so quickly, his has the sweetest little personality. i am so thankful for the opportunity that i have been given to stay home and be his momma. i went to the doctor alone so i did not get a picture of him on the paper this time, i was focussed on keeping him from rolling off! here are some fun facts about 6 month old easton

  • 18lbs 7oz  27" tall
  •  he loves to giggle and it is getting easier and easier to get him to do so
  • he is super ticklish
  • he is able to get up on all fours, he just kinda rocks back and forth and ends up nose diving into the carpet, but it is the funniest thing
  • his bottom 2 teeth are almost all the way in
  • he loves to bounce, up and down, up and down, up and down, all the live long day
  • still no schedule :(
  • sleeps for at least  5 hrs straight most nights :)
  • he is able to sit up without support for a short period of time
  • he rolls all over the place, its his go to mode of transportation
  • he likes brown rice pretty well and seems to love sweet potatoes
  • he is beginning to play with lola, one day soon he will be tormenting her i just know it

i love being his mom so much, most days i am tired and dying for a schedule. i have to remind myself that if all i do is tend to his needs and play with him, and nothing else gets done, then i did my job well. that is why i am home, i am home to be with him. i am so blessed to be a stay at home mom, i know that there is nothing more important. i am so thankful for jeremy for providing me with this opportunity that so few get in todays world.

10.13

at exactly 6 months old easton sat up on his own for the first time! he is still a little wobbly, and i have to help him find his balance, but he is doing really well.

even though he is getting so big so fast, i am glad that he will still snuggle for his morning nap. which by the way is the only thing consistent in his schedule!

happy half birthday big little boy!

food

a little over a week ago we started giving toast rice cereal. we started with plain white rice, he wasn't too crazy for it. then we tried oatmeal, he didn't love it but didn't hate it. then i found organic brown rice, which he eats surprisingly well. and just a couple days ago we started on jarred foods, sweet potatoes. he seems to really like them and eats them much better than the cereal. we are going to keep up with the cereal because i like all the nutrition that comes from whole grains and i think that its a good thing for him to like.

girls at the cabin + e

this last weekend we went to the cabin for a girls trip and to close it up for that winter. it was really really cold. i was in denial, so i did not pack well at all. i didn't even pack socks for the tiny toaster. it was a quick trip but nice. wish chal could have been there.

on the way up we stopped in pine top for lunch and it was snowing, poor toast had no socks.

at least he had a dang cute hoodie!

i let mom sleep in my "big agnes" bag, since becca and i stole the down comforter she brought.

easton is always going! he gets bored with his toys fairly quickly and we have begun to resort to tupperware, it is surprisingly entertaining for the little guy.

jackalope are NOT real! i always thought it was a joke, but then when i actually saw one mounted among big giant amazing animals in the eager/springerville general store i thought for sure it must be real. my mom even had me convinced. it was right above the door to the restroom and i must have stared at it for a good 15 minutes while everyone took a turn. i spent most of this time trying to find the best angle to capture this photo to post to Facebook announcing my discovery...only to be completely embarrassed by the comments informing me that it is in fact a joke after all. thanks mom!

we must have been in the dang general store for a good two hours. and during this time easton found a rocking horse

and a coon skin hat.

in keeping with cabin tradition we had dinner at the molly butler lodge the last night there. this is where we found this super fun saddle. just look at that face, so stink in cute! sadly the food was just not what it  was last summer, i was very disappointed.

once we were kicked out of the cabin we retreated to the car and easton managed to roll him self out of the carseat

the traditional picture in front of grandmas tree that we take as we leave the cabin

(this belongs and the top but i couldn't get it there)

the first night at the cabin nana made some delish chili, it had freshly roasted green chiles and i added corn, with a green chile quesadilla on the side. seriously so yummy!

over all it was a nice weekend. next summer will be super fun chasing toasty around the cabin!
